Tesla, the electric car manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Supplier Industrialization Engineer for a full-time, temporary remote position in Mexico. The job falls under the Supply Chain category, and the ideal candidate will join the Tesla Power Electronics Top Level Assembly Supplier Industrialization Engineering team.
The team’s primary goal is to build a state-of-the-art supply chain with Tesla that focuses on the entire product life cycle of several vehicle and energy products, with a special emphasis on Power Electronics Modules. The modules include Electric power conversion modules, High Voltage distribution systems, High Voltage Devices, and Vehicle Charging Systems.
As a crucial member of the team, the Supplier Industrialization Engineer will be responsible for several tasks, including manufacturing process concept knowledge sharing, thorough Design for Six Sigma analysis, and high-precision manufacturing process development. They will also lead supplier selections during RFQ phases, coach suppliers using a data-driven approach, and guide them through the validation phase.
After the start of production, the Supplier Industrialization Engineer will become the high-profile product supply chain owner to ensure on-time delivery of products, zero PPMs in production, and work on solving product quality issues, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of experience in supply chain management for power electronics systems. They should have a BS Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
The ideal candidate should also have experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Tolerance stacks up analysis, and Monte Carlo simulation and other Quality tools. They should have solid knowledge of statistical analysis tools and applications (JMP/Minitab), and proficiency in GD&T, 3D CAD software, CATIA is preferred.
The candidate should have previous experience in Advanced product quality planning (APQP) and supplier development and management experience. They should be self-motivated and able to work independently, hands-on, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required, and up to 50% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
