Optibelt Expands to Mexico, Investing 1.5 Billion Pesos in Querétaro

German-based company Optibelt, specializing in transmission system production, has announced its investment plans in San Juan del Río, Querétaro, with an estimated sum of 1.5 billion pesos. This expansion will result in the creation of 250 direct job opportunities by 2027. Initially, the company will invest 400 million pesos, commencing operations with a workforce of 85 employees. Sergio Siller García, Operation Manager of Optibelt, mentioned that the company’s staff will undergo a four to six-month training program in Germany.

According to Siller García, Optibelt’s investment in the region will be gradually increased, with projected amounts of 160 million pesos in 2024, 400 million pesos in both 2025 and 2026, and ultimately reaching the target investment of 1.5 billion pesos by 2027.

Roberto Cabrera Valencia, the mayor of San Juan del Río, shared that Optibelt’s production in the local complex will cater to the needs of the automotive sector. He emphasized the municipal government’s commitment to facilitating and promoting such investments, expressing pride in the industrial sector of San Juan del Río.

Jorge Rivadeneyra Díaz, CEO of DALE Desarrollos, the industrial park where Optibelt will be located, highlighted the trust shown by entrepreneurs in investing in the region.
