This Monday began the operation of the new plant of the North American company Ametek, designer and manufacturer of electronic equipment, in Nuevo Laredo. This will generate about 300 new jobs, and an investment of 14 million dollars will be applied to its second facility located in Tamaulipas. On behalf of the head of the Secretariat for Economic Development in the entity, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, the Undersecretary for Investment Promotion and Foreign Trade, Anabell Flores Garza, participated in the opening ceremony together with company directors.
The new plant has an area of 175,000 square feet and merges the company’s operation in the state, where Reynosa also operates with a factory. This new investment, the directors pointed out, will generate over 300 direct jobs.
Ametek is a leading firm in the electronic and electromechanical instrument manufacturing sector, both for the industry of power sources, energy measurement, and monitoring instruments, among others.
